"The Guy who started it all"

The AR-15 is a gas-operated and magazine-fed series of rifles Based on the original Armalite AR-15. Contrary to popular belief, AR does not stand for Assault Rifle but instead Armalite Rifle, that's just what the New World Order wants you to think. Members of this family are the M16 Armalite rife, the M4 carbine and many others. The M4 carbine (and the M16 to some degree) is currently the main service rifle of the United States armed forces and it is probably the most used rifle by the modern Western Nations. The rifle was created to use the .223 Remington cartridge, with it's military relative being capable to fire the slightly more powerful 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge. The term “AR-15” is also used to refer to the semi-automatic and commercially available civilian version of the M4 and M16 assault rifles, these specific versions have been the focus of many controversy due to its use by (mostly right wing) shooters. This has caused to certain groups in the United Sates to start supporting the ban of these weapons (and in some cases, to abolish the right to keep and bear arms) and the start of many theories that suggest that a certain organization plans and orchestrates these shootings in advance, to ban said weapons.

Due to its reliability, durability and the fact how common and easy is to maintain and use. It has become one of the Chud's favorite weapons (just behind the Mauser K98k and the Luger P08), but for those same reasons, the rifle has also become pretty popular along with a certain enemy of the Chuds.

History

Originally made by Eugene Stoner, it started as a derivative of the AR-10 battle rifle around the year of 1959. During this time, the army was testing small caliber, high velocity rifles and then Armalite entered the competition with a scaled-down version of his AR-10 (which also featured new lightweight materials from the aircraft industry). But at the same time, the FairChild company was in a financial crisis, which forced the company to sell the licensing rights to the AR-15 to Colt. After the purchase, Colt began to aggressively marketing the rifle around the world, at one point they managed to get the attention of the USAF General Curtis LeMay, he really liked it and ordered around 80,000 rifles along with 8.5 million rounds for the USAF. At the same time and thanks to DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), the AR-15 had found his way into the hands of the U.S. military advisors stationed in south vietnam, training local ARVN troops. Due to it's lightweight and full automatic capability, made the rifle ideal for combat deep in the Vietnamese jungle, making it a favorite among the both the ARVN and the U.S. advisors. Slowly, word was spread, and other units like the Army Airborne and "Green Berets" started to request to also test the AR-15.

Due to the growing popularity of the AR-15, The secretary of Defense Robert McNamara (who was a former executive at the Ford Motor Company) concluded in 1963 that the AR-15 was the superior than the currently used M14 Battle Rifle. After a long and boring series of bullshit inside the Pentagon, Branch infighting and several modifications, around late 1963, McNamara approved the U.S. Army's order of 85,000 early production XM16E1 rifles. And in 1964 the rifle went into full production, given in a test run to the 201st Gookkiller battalion, it proved extremely effective at shooting not just commie riceniggers, but their dogs, fishing boats, and elderly. Just in time for the deployment of the first American troops to Vietnamese soil, after the infamous Tonkin Gulf incident, in August of 1964. During its use in Vietnam, the M16 had many reports of poor reliability and high rates of malfunction. But in early 1967, the new and improved M16A1 rifle arrived, now with a new chrome-plated chamber and several other minor improvements. That, added with new cleaning kits and rifle training programs to the troops, virtually eliminated all complains with the rifle.

Despite its rocky start, the M16 and the AR-15 platform as a whole, proved to be a not only a revolutionary design but also a reliable one. And also stands as the the longest continuously serving rifle with the United States Armed forces.

Use by the 'arty and others

• During the First Soyvil War, the Norwegian, Arabic and Frog troops were supplied with many types of weapons, but the most popular were the Colt Canada C7 rifle and C8 carbine. At the beginning of hostilities, the Norwegian coalition forces were superior in weaponry to the Swedish forces. But after a few weeks of fighting, the Swedish forces managed to obtain air superiority, along with the moral superiority. The conflict ended with the Oslo Poop Treaty. Both sides claimed victory, but it is currently considered that the conflict ended with a Swedish win.

• During the infamous Fourth Soyvil War, almost all sides used at least some variant of the AR-15. One of those was the Pro-Frootists forces, which initially used the M4 Carbines, but they were later replaced with the French FAMAS rifle and the SCAR-L . Another force that used the rifle were the Anti-Froot Rebels (mainly by the jartycucks), the infamous 8th Jarty grenadier "Lute" Division used their M16A4 rifles in many guerrilla raids into the sharty.

• In the Chud Skirmishes of 2024, the Chuddy and even some Centrist forces, used different variants of the AR-15 rifle. One of the most interesting models that were used was the Mk 12 SPR (Special Purpose Rifle). Originally used by Navy Seals, this rifle came into "Chud" hands by still unknown means. These new marksman rifles were quickly put into service to several Pro-Chud sniper units. While on the leftist side, they use old post-Soviet weaponry and a mix of more modern guns. Some reports document the sightings of Tranny Troops using the AR-15. But they have been sighted in very small numbers, they are probably either captured from the enemy or purchased privately.

• During the /nate/ War, the AGC forces used M4 carbines as their main rifle (along with other firearms like the MG42 and the Remington 870 shotgun) . Meanwhile, the irregular gooner militia using human wave techniques did not necessitate the use of caliber firearms, using the old Soviet strategy wherein one would be supplied with a gun to be taken when the other goonfag died.
  • During the Dust War, the AGC deployed an occupation force that used AR-15-pattern rifles. The remaining gooners resorted to guerilla tactics, inherited from the Viet Cong. A terrorist cell would bunker in a Jew tunnel, and send a few men out on a suicide mission, to waste the Anti-Gooner Coalition's time.
